Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of the purchase, the mileage was approximately 27,300. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for software updates months after it was purchased. A technician performed software updates and informed the contact of a mileage discrepancy. The scan tool displayed an approximate mileage of 45,000. The contact had not driven the vehicle in several months, and the mileage could not have increased while not being driven.

[XXX] [XXX] > [XXX] [XXX] > I’m reaching out regarding an issue with Range Rover Las Vegas. Our body shop represents a client whose vehicle requires an aluminum roof-panel replacement. The dealership has refused to sell the part, stating that because it is made of aluminum it may only be sold to JLR-certified facilities. Under Nevada law, registered repair facilities must have access to the necessary parts to perform vehicle repairs. For example, Nevada Revised Statutes 487.6883 states: “Whenever the repair work performed on a motor vehicle requires the replacement of any parts or accessories, the body shop or garage operator shall, at the request of the person authorizing the repairs … deliver to the person all parts and accessories replaced as a result of the work done.” Refusing to sell essential parts on the basis of certification restrictions appears inconsistent with the principles of consumer protection embodied in the statute. I had I issue with my car shifting from Drive to neutral itself. Complained a couple of times about it but they said there is no code for that. One year after they said they have a code for them. A week after they reprogrammed it, on day I was parking at the driveway and my brakes didn't work neither my forward collision warning or my Automatic Emergency Braking.

The latest incidence of this problem occurred while paused in an intersection waiting to turn left when the flow of traffic allowed. As has happened on other occasions, when attempting to proceed forward from a stop, the transmission had changed to Neutral. The shifter position could not be changed without shutting off the car and turning it back on. All the while people behind are blaring their horns and oncoming traffic is resuming. This problem has occurred on numerous other occasion, most often when stopped at a stop light. It is an intermittent problem, and the majority of the time the car operates properly. However, it seems to be occurring more frequently lately. The problem has been reported to the dealer service department, and they could not duplicate it when the vehicle was provided for evaluation. They also say that there are no service bulletins on this. As an additional note, we thought perhaps this problem could be associated with the automatic shutoff feature, so we have been turning that off when driving the car. However, the problem still occurs when that is disabled.

On several occasions the vehicle shifted by itself from D to N. Leaving you stuck until you shifted into P then back to D. This is scary and potentially dangerous. Dealer has only a service bulletin, so if you complain they can hopefully fix it. But, this is dangerous should have a recall.

The contact owns a 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with the auto Stop/Start system that allowed the vehicle to turn off while at a complete stop and to restart when releasing the brake pedal and depressing the accelerator pedal. However, while at the stop light, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact noticed that the transmission was in neutral (N). The contact shifted into park(P) and then shifted into drive(D). The contact continued driving however, the failure reoccurred twice on two different occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where an unknown software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and remained at the dealer for a month. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

I purchased my vehicle in Feb, 2022. In April, I was stopped at a red light and the automatic brake "hold" feature enabled. I pressed the gas and nothing happened. The vehicle went from Drive to Neutral. Had to put vehicle in Park and then put in drive. Again in May, 2022, it happened twice in one day. Stopped at stop sign vehicle went from Drive to Neutral. Called service - was told it was a "computer update". June 2022, I was driving down a street and the automatic emergency brake enabled for no reason whatsoever. I had the "computer update" in June, 2022. I now drive with the Automatic On/Off enabled so the car does not shut off when at a stop. Still very to nerve wracking to drive.

I purchased a Range Rover Velar on 8 January 2022. Since then, it has switched from drive to neutral without prompting on 6 occasions. Most recently 24th March, 30th April, 8th April, 10th May and 23rd May. I took it to the dealership in February spoke with service advisor and he told me it's a known problem. They cleared some codes and this is still happening. I feel unsafe and this has to stop. While driving today (23rd May), the Velar switch from drive to neutral while changing lanes. My brain and body can not deal with this impending calamity. My sanity can't handle it.
